Guided accessible tour of Leiden

A Guided and accessible tour of Leiden

Leiden is referred to as being one large open-air museum.   Together the old windmills, courtyards, gates and churches comprise of up to 2800 monuments, all from walking distance from each other. A fact that makes it worth enjoying a guided tour!

Leiden is located between Amsterdam and Rotterdam, apart from the monuments it has wonderful canals. Leiden has very similar features to Amsterdam, but everything is just that bit smaller, cosier and tranquille.

In the Netherlands, Leiden is famous for the ‘Leidse Ontzet’. During this large traditional event, residents of Leiden and beyond celebrate the end of the Spanish siege of the city.

Leiden has a vibrant atmosphere largely thanks to the student culture, as the the University of Leiden is one of the top universities in the Netherlands.
