During this 3-hour guided tour you will learn about the Jewish history of Amsterdam. The guide will tell you about the history of the Second World War and the tragic consequences for the Jews in Amsterdam. Anne Frank is a Jewish girl, who lived during the Second World War. While she went into hiding with her family in the ‘Achterhuis’, she kept a diary about her life. This diary was later known as the most famous biography of the Second World War. During this tour you will learn about her story and about other Jewish residents of Amsterdam, who lived during this time. In addition, you’ll visit heritage sites that relate to the Jewish community in Amsterdam. The tour guide will take you to locations that have a strong connection with the Jewish culture in the past and in the present. After the guided tour, you’ll have the opportunity to visit the Jewish History Museum and the Portuguese Synagoge (on your own).
