Medemblik is the smallest, prettiest and oldest city of West-Friesland along the former Zuiderzee (IJsselmeer), approximately 40 kilometres north of Amsterdam. Due to its rich history, Medemblik is an interesting place to visit. The picturesque centre reminds you of the old days. In addition there are many tourist attractions, such as harbours, castle Radboud, a typical Dutch flourmill “de Herder” and many museums and establishments.
During your stay in Medemblik, the following elements are arranged for you:
Arado Camping&Lodge is located in a peaceful, green area just outside the city of Medemblik. It consists of a group accommodation for groups up to 14 people with adapted bathroom available. The sleeping area is divided into two spacious rooms with 8-8 beds and there is a shared living- and dining room with television and kitchen supplies. There are also 8 comfortable lodges that can host up to 28 visitors. These are threshold free and the doors are wide enough for wheelchairs. The bathrooms are equipped with grab rails at the toilets and wheel-in shower. Each lodge has their own kitchen with necessary kitchen supplies.
During the stay, the following equipment can be rented and delivered to Medemblik: wheelchair, mobility scooter, shower chair, hoist, high-low bed, walker and special needs bikes.
The airport transfer provides transportation between Schipol airport and Arado Camping&Lodge in Medemblik. The client can choose from three transfer categories that fits their needs.
The regular taxi van can position 4 people using a wheelchair. This van also has a platform lift on the backside.
Transfers for a maximum of 3 people of which 1 wheelchair users, including wheelchair ramp.
Accessible transport for big groups with over 10 wheelchair users. These touring cars have a platform lift and can remove chairs to place wheelchairs.
Your stay can be extended with a 2-nights pre-stay in the city of Amsterdam. This would include 2 overnights in 3- or 4-star hotel with breakfast additional activities.

The Medemblik-Hoorn heritage railway operated by the Museumstoomtram Hoorn Medemblik is a heritage railway in the Netherlands. It runs from Hoorn to Medemblik, the distance is about 20 km. There is a wheel chairlift available on board.
Excursion in Noord-Holland: the windmills and harbour towns
Excursion with an accessible taxi van to see the famous windmills, enjoy a clog workshop and cheese farm at Zaanse Schans village.
Excursion to Alkmaar, a historical city in North-Holland with many canals, waterways and old buildings. Also known as “the city of cheese”. Accessible museums: Cheese Museum, National Beer Museum and City Museum Alkmaar.
Enkhuizen is located only 20 minutes drive away from Medemblik. The Zuiderzee museum that introduces the everyday life around the Zuiderzee in the past can be visited.
