Description

The transfer brings the passengers from Amsterdam to the harbour of Arnhem, from where the cruise departs. The first stop is Kampen, where a local tour guide will introduce you the city that has over 500 monuments, 3 preserved city town portals and historical harbour. Kampen is one of the large Hanze Towns, being an important trading spot in the Middle Ages. On the following day, the cruise brings its passengers to Harlingen, a fishermen’s town in Friesland where you get to know the old city during a guided tour. The next destination is Terschelling, that is one of the Dutch Wadden Islands. You will travel around the island on a horse carriage with a local guide. On the next day, the cruise sails to Enkhuizen, a fishermen’s town that used to be the most important harbour cities in the Netherlands. On the last day, you arrive to the last destination, Meppel. From there, the transfer brings you to Amsterdam Schipol Airport.

Reviews from the last River Cruise in April 2017

"I recently visited Holland with a wheelchair - using client on a cruise of the Maas and Rhine, booked through the excellent assisted - holiday company Altogether Travel. Of all my many experiences accompanying clients with disabilities abroad on vacation, this was by far the most positive. Our cruise was arranged and led by Accessible Travel Netherlands. This company specialises in running wheelchair - friendly and accessible holidays in Holland and provided us with a highly professional, first - class service.

We had the most enjoyable, relaxing break. All was run smoothly and professionally, from our transfers to / from Schiphol to our boarding and reception on the beautiful, spacious and superbly - equipped Prins Willem Alexander, designed specially for clients with a wide range of disabilities.

Everything was taken care of for us, all we had to do was sit back, relax, eat the wonderful and plenteous food and enjoy the company of the many friends we made. We also spent lots of time tanning on the top deck thanks to the warm, sunny weather which we had throughout our stay. Entertainment was top quality, apart perhaps for my stint on the karaoke night when I appeared for the first ( and hopefully last ) time on a stage! Great fun though!

Veroniek Maat, Accessible Travel Netherlands director, accompanied us and was a wonderfully pleasant, sensitive, thoughtful and highly-organised companion. Our tours which included Rotterdam, Tiel, Doesburg and Zwolle were led by professional guides who spoke excellent English and displayed a detailed knowledge of their area's history and places of interest.

Veroniek arranged frequent rest stops for our group to take in the beautiful surroundings and enjoy a drink e.g. in Doesburg in the oldest public house in Holland, De Waag. (The Weighing House.) She also managed to locate Guinness - serving pubs for my companion ( a connoisseur of the 'black stuff' ) at each of our stops! Attention to detail of the highest order and all part of a service which ensured maximum pleasure.

I can't praise this company highly enough or recommend them more warmly. ( My companion has already booked the Rhine cruise to Germany for next year! ) We were a given highly - individualised, person - centred service which showed great care and attention to my companion's needs. Absolutely faultless performance by Accessible Travel Netherlands and the lovely Veroniek Maat.

Dank je wel from 2 very happy and satisfied customers!!"

"I was so excited when I found out that Accessible Travel Netherlands was offering a fully wheelchair friendly river cruise around Holland! I had such an absolutely incredible time, and Veroniek was even kind enough to organize tours for a day trip outside of Amsterdam to Brussels during my stay before the cruise. I highly recommend their services to anybody heading to the Netherlands!"
