A canal cruise through the canals is a must-do when visiting Amsterdam. Experience a cruise through the famous Prinsengracht canal and admire the oldest canal houses and houseboats. The canal cruise passes by the Anne Frank House, the Wester Church, the Rembrandt House, the Maritime Museum and the renovated Rijksmuseum.
The cruise starts and ends at the Stadhouderskade, which is situated opposite to Holland Casino and the Hardrock Cafe. The starting point is a short stroll from the Museum Square and the green Vondelpark.
The canal cruise has several vessels with a lift on board. This lift allows people using a wheelchair to access the canal cruise boat. The width of the path between the seats on the boat is wide enough for wheelchairs and the door is a sliding door. A maximum of 4 wheelchairs or scooters are allowed on one canal cruise vessel.
Watch this short movie in which John Sage from Sage Traveling shows how the canal cruise lift works.
